February -- can we go back to January. This month so far has not been good. Starts with my dad having a mild heart-attack (is that an oxymoron or what). He had one about 11:30 AM on February 1. He had the where with all to go to the hospital when he started to have chest pains. He got to the emergency room and had the heart-attack. They took him to the Cleveland Clinic to have a catheterization and they found one artery was 100% block, one was 85% and the others were fine. They put stents in the 100% blocked artery and are doing angioplasty today (2/5) on the other. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. So Tony & I went up to Cleveland to visit dad and stay with mom on Thursday night.
My aunt & uncle came over to watch the kids. Patrick had a big day at school on Friday - he was to go to a lunch with an author who writes about animals and their habitats (this is so up his alley). Turns out the author was sick :( so Patrick did not get to meet him. That night at school they had family fun night (we drove home for that) and it was lame! They do not do these well. He won a basket of goodies in the raffle and is having fun sharing with his brother and sister.
Saturday - we all drove up to Cleveland to visit my dad. The kids got to see him and that made him happy. Colleen discovered dress up that day. She recieved a Little Mermaid costume for Christmas and decided that morning she needed to wear it for Grandpa. Well everyone in the hospital loved her and commented on how she looked. SHe kept saying "mommy everyone loves my dress". It was too cute. WE stayed the night with my mom and Tony & I watched Anne of Green Gables on the 42" TV. AWESOME
Sunday - we visited dad again and this time he looked tired. His right arm was swollen. The doctors were not sure why - they think RA or Gout. By the time we left he was in better spirits. And on this day the weather decided to laugh at the groundhog (who said winter is almost over) and bring in a cold front and I am talking COLD. Single digits!
Monday - It is -2 degrees right now and it is 10:30 in the morning!!!! The kids got the day off because it was too cold and dangerous for them to go outside.
