This weekend we went to Cleveland to celebrate my dad's birthday! He turned 65. We went up on Saturday and spent the whole day there. The kids were made that we did not spend the night but we had to go to church the next morning and Daniel had a birthday party at the Y.
I got my hair cut at Bella Capelli and I think after my hair color it may be my last time. I am not happy that she cuts my hair without listening to me but that is what you get for going to the same person for 8 years. We shall see.

Preschool/Daycare and other stuff
Well this week has been a whirlwind.
Jan 16 - Tony had the interview all morning (Still haven't heard anything)
Jan 17 - Patrick had basketball practice and the whole family went (sans Tony). The younger two got bored but that was expected. Patrick did fine. He did get hit with the ball in the face but I told him to rub a little dirt on it and he would be fine.
Jan 18 - my parents came down to spend the weekend. The kids did not have school so they stayed home with Tony during the day and I worked.
Jan 19 - Tony & I went to 'Protecting God's Children' I was good! I am glad I went. It made me a little more paranoid but what is new. Then we went to Der Dutchman w/o the kids. Patrick had his first basketball game. My parents took him. His team lost but Patrick had fun and played quiet a bit. Booked Disney trip. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge! starting December 27. Ron and his gang spent the night! The kids seemed to have fun. My kids slept in the attic and Elizabeth & Anthony slept with their dad in Daniel's bed.
Jan 20 - Tony, the kids, Ron, & Dad went to the OSU Women's basketball game. Mom & I went shopping!

Jan 21 & 22 - Colleen & Patrick had dental appointments and I did not work. The kids had off on Monday and it was so cold we just hung around the house
Jan 23 - Colleen started Preschool/Daycare at Epworth. She was so excited about it all weekend. But when it came time to go she did not want to go. But she went and had a good time. Only downside was that she did not eat the lunch that they provided - but I knew that would happen going into this situation.

Ten days since last post and stuf that has happened
Well since the last post - 10 days ago - some things have happened.
- OSU lost in the national championship game again
- our car needed $900 worth of work. My parents in their generosity paid for most of it! I love them so much for that one
- our 8th wedding anniversary. Tony bought me the sweetest card and some flowers. I on the other hand got him nothing to date. I am working on a scrapbook for the two of us.
- Colleen visited her new daycare/preschool setting. She did not want to at first but she did enjoy it and talks about her 'school' all the time.
- we went to the zoo to learn about pachyderms. We went with Uncle Paul & Aunt Suzy. Then they stayed with us and watched the kids while Tony & I went out to dinner with his work group. The dinner was nice - we were late and got to sit with the Plant Manager.
- Tony is supposed to have a job interview on the 16th in Cincinnati for an operations manager position. He is not sure about going. I want him to see what is out there but it is up to him.
- Had a meeting with Daniel's teacher about his reluctance to go to school in the morning. They have not seen anything except that he rushes to the bathroom in the AM.
- Working on consolidating our debt so we can have a plan to pay it off.
- Working on our Disney trip in December
- NOT working on my goals list - need to write these down so I see them all the time and try to be more specific

Walked and walked and walked
On Saturday, I went walking today with Kerrianne Smith. I met her three plus years ago when I trained for the Disney Half Marathon. I went to walk about 3 miles and ended up doing nearly 5! and I am aching right now and will be into the near future.
The rest of the day I just lounged around with the kiddos. Tony went for his run. We then went out to dinner at The Warehouse - our old favorite in town. Well they changed the menu and it has not been the same since. I still love their pizza but that is about it that I like there.
On Sunday, we got up at 8:30 and were out the door by 9:15 for church!! YEAH US - normally if this happens we don't end up at church. We then went to Tim Horton's for breakfast. My parents came down for the day so they could take our car to get fixed. It needs new tires.
I am going to start a food journal tomorrow now I have to find one online or buy one.

End of 2007
I can't believe 2007 is over already. Where has the time gone and what has occurred in 2007 for me is not much. Status quo --- no change -- nothing new. To me that is sad. I am thinking of my goals for 2007 and I honestly cannot remember what they were. I know that I planned to work on my Patience with my husband and kids but I don't think that worked out to well.
I am going to try to work with Tony and get some goals for both of us and for the family as a whole.
Here are some ideas:
I am going to try to work with Tony and get some goals for both of us and for the family as a whole.
Here are some ideas:
- paying off debt
- less frivolous spending - Lynn!
- exercise more
- eat better
- lose weight
- read some new authors - try something new
- scrapbook a page a week (52 layouts) don't worry about the past for the moment that will come once I get started
- take more pictures of the kids, of us, of our daily lives
- get a new job - Lynn
I think that is it for now...

Back to reality
Well after a whole week away from my horrible job I have to go back to work. :( Oh well what can I do? Outside of finding a new job or getting Tony a huge raise.
This past week has been fun though!
Aug 11 - we left for Pittsburgh PA. We decided to go there for our vacation because of the Pirates being in town. We started the day at the Pittsburgh Children's Museum. Then we checked into our hotel and Colleen & Patrick went swimming. Daniel started to run a fever at dinner that night.
Aug 12 - we went to the Pittsburgh Zoo. It was a free visit! we liked that :) Then after the zoo we went to ride the Incline and did not have any money. There was an ATM at the top of the ride but none of our cards worked so we rode for free. Then we went out for dinner and then all of us went swimming! it was a good day!
Aug 13 - We started the day with a swim and then we went to the History Museum. Daniel still sick so he did not enjoy it much but the kids did really well with all the walking we had to do. After the museum we went to the Pirates game. The game lasted less than 2 hours and the kids had a really good time! They all got baseball hats as a souvenir from the trip and we very happy about that - even though finding one for Patrick took a long frustrating time for all of us. After the game we went back to the hotel and chilled
Aug 14 - headed back to Marion :( The trip came to a quick end. We left the hotel and went to IKEA to shop. Colleen pooped in the potty for the first time! it was so cool. The boys got to spend time in the play area there while we shopped. Colleen couldn't she was too small she was sad but she did have a good time shopping. Then we headed home and finished the trip off with some putt putt by the Dutch Heritage on Rt 97.
I think all in all we had a really good time on this vacation! our next mini-trip is to Cincinnati to see the Reds play baseball - we may go to the aquarium

Birthday Party Weekend
Well this weekend we celebrated birthday's
Saturday - 6/23 we celebrated Daniel's fifth birthday! It went off well, except we ran out of the salads that I made :( Friday night I cleaned and decorated the cake - spongebob. Saturday we finished the cleaning and I made all the salads and sides for the meal. We just did burgers and hot dogs. I think we had enough for everyone. Daniel recieved a bunch of cool presents and only one duplicate. Then Frank & Lois stayed for dinner and that was nice. The kids were cranky from too much running around but outside of that it was a good night.
Sunday - 6/24 HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA! My grandma turned 85! we went up to Cleveland for lunch and it was nice. The kids did really well except at the end when they were getting bored of being in a restaurant. Then we went to my parent's house just to wear the kids out but that did not work. They were up the whole car ride home. When we got home we all had some cereal and then went to bed. Everyone was asleep within a half hour.
I think that is it for today. later.... oh yeah hate my job

Daniel is 5
Daniel turned 5 on June 19, 2007! Happy Birthday my boy!
We started the celebration in Cleveland with a mini-golf party with Noah and Corrie. Grandma & Grandpa Aukerman were there also. They are the best. The kids had a great time except for poor Noah. His mom went nutty on him and kicked him off the course for doing something that the other 4 kids were doing. We were the only people on the course so it was no big deal except for her. I like her most of the time but sometimes her parenting is less than desired.
Later that day we went to the metroparks for a picnic for mom's birthday. I was leery about it at first because of the heat but it turned out to be such a fun time.
On the 19th - Tony went with Daniel to but a bike for his birthday. He got a bike similar to Patrick's and loves it! I am so happy. We went out to Bob Evans for lunch and he seemed to have a good time.
This weekend we have the family in for the BIG party. YEAH - it is so stressful but hey it is family.

Patrick with Glasses and other things
I cannot believe it my little boy is getting glasses :( or is it :). I am really on the fence about this one. I know if he needs them than that is good but part of me is not so sure he needs them. But I can not see what he sees or does not see.
He is very excited about getting glasses so that is the whole plus in this!
Saturday we went out to celebrate Daniel's fifth birthday! He received a birthday card from California Pizza Kitchen so we went there for a big blowout dinner. It included dessert! They ate pretty well regarding the meal but did not eat the dessert - go figure.
Then we went to Target to do some birthday wish list shopping. He is so matter of fact it is not funny. He big new phrase is "I think so" he is not like his brother who is a definite yes or no. He is Mr. Maybe! Too Cute.
Sunday we did church which I don't know why we go. We get nothing out of it. It is just punching a clock for lower tuition and that is it. The kids argue with us prior but once there they are fine - but it is a battle prior to. Then we went shopping at Lowe's and shoe shopping for the kids. Colleen is the only one to get shoes a really cute white pair with a butterfly on them. The boys wanted to buy tennis shoes but they do not need new tennis shoes since their current shoes are the size they are measuring but try to explain that to a kid. I wanted them to get nice brown sandals but NO WAY for them. UGH!! Much better when they were younger.
better run....

Once again where did the time go....
I am lousy at this blogging thing. I keep forgetting to go online and write. UGH!
Well let us see what has happened in the past months...
1st - the boys have finished their school year. Patrick & Daniel both did great!
2nd - miss colleen still is not fully potty trained. I blame us but who knows
3rd - I turned 40! YEAH who cares... it is just a number. I don't feel 40 but what should it feel like..... I am happy with most of my life. I hate working and stuff but outside of that it is good here.
Nothing new going on in our lives - that is sad :( we did plant a garden. I have to take photos of it since we have a camera now. We bought one to celebrate our turning 40 this year. Tony has 3 months but he still is going to be 40.
talk to you sometime soon.....

time flies
it has been over a month since I wrote to myself here.... I need to get better at this. How do people do this daily. I would rather veg out and do nothing --- hmmm I think I see the problem with my life.
Two birthday parties down and one to go! I can't believe my kids are getting so big.
Colleen is 3! I unfortunately do not have pictures from her party since I broke the camera. I am waiting for pictures from people but alas nothing. what a shocker there!
Patrick is 6! my baby boy is 6! guess he is not a baby mom. He is enjoying 6 so far - had three days worth of celebrating. and he has another one next week with his friends from school. So far there are three girls who said they would be there hopefully more people reply soon.
better go and seduce the husband. he is sick but oh well
