1 game down 15 more to go

Patrick had his first game last night. After we searched and searched for the field (PUT UP SIGNS) we were at the game in time. Patrick was very worried we would be late and he would have to sit this on out. When we got there his coach came to talk to me about pat playing 3rd base -- he really wants pat to play this position because his is a good fielder. Patrick wants to play 1st base which is better for him since he is a lefty. Unfortunately the other coaches son plays 1st (and not so well) so Patrick is relegated to 3rd, the outfield, and pitcher (I think this would be better for him - being a lefty and all).

Daniel & Colleen were able to play on a playground - which is good and not so good. There were kids that had nothing to do with ball playing and throwing rocks at one another - HELLO! I had to go over and talk to these boys because they had no regard for little ones. I also don't get parents who let their kids run wild without supervision. One parent sent her 3 year old to the playground alone.

My take aways from last night are:

  1. the kids need to run and run and run - they hit the bed and fall asleep
  2. i need a sitter to go with me to these games - problem is finding one
  3. my son is a pretty good ballplayer - to bad people don't like his mama
