We are at the age where you have no idea what to buy your children for their birthday. This is additionally stressed because our kids are blessed with family who buy nearly everything on their birthday wish lists (mind you the list has 15 things on it).
Our oldest son - mind you our middle son also - have nearly every Wii game they enjoy. They want the next version but do you really need NHL2K9 and NHL2010????? I don't think so and neither does my husband.
So we are two days before the big date with nothing in hand! nothing on the horizon (perhaps golf clubs or a new 20" bike) we can not decide and it is causing a riff between the two of us!

Middle of April
I cannot believe it the middle of April already. Today (April 13) is my oldest due date - he was born on April 16, 2001 but today was supposed to be his day. That day was also Good Friday. Both Tony & I took the day off work in anticipation of this miracle. We slept in, expecting it to be the last time that would happen for the next 20+ years, and then headed out to Good Friday services at church. I kept waiting for labor to start and it never did. We even went out to our favorite park and did the Baton Death March (at least to a 9 month pregnant women) with the dog and still no labor.
I had a doctor's appointment the previous day so I did not call. I am sure they would have loved that one. The next day still no baby. The next day Easter Sunday still no baby but on the bright side everyone came to us just in case. That night right before heading to bed, Tony talked to the belly and told this little guy inside that he needed to be born so daddy did not have to go to work. Well the little guy listened and he was born that Monday.
I always think about this on April 13 - I even tell him that this was his supposed birthday. With my other two I could not even tell you their due dates. This is just the difference between the 1st and everyone else.

What a quiet day
So far today is quiet. I like slow quiet days like this. I am able to go through things slowly and not be stressed out by what is going on that does not involve me.
Tonight the boys have pinewood derby with the scout troop. I am excited about this for them. They have so much fun! Tony did such a good job on those cars for the boys. They did help out but Tony did all the tools (we are not comfortable with the use of power tools by the two of them).

Small Success - March 25
Wasn't sure I was going to do this but after reading everyone elses I said Yes! I will do this. Life has not been going great but some things have been going really well and I need to be greatful for these little blessings in life

- Scheduled my hair cut and color at my favorite salon - 2 hours away on a school day no less.
- Packed up 23 bags of clothes that have been sitting in bins and sent them off to Goodwill - now onto old sheets and blankets
- Keeping the house straight! I dislike cleaning (thank you DH for doing it most of the time) but this past week I have kept up with the mess and it is much simplier than waiting until it overwhelms
- Order's Lisa's book and can't wait to start it :)

March 23
Where has the time gone! Wasn't yesterday March 9 and my baby's 6th birthday???
Well since then... Basketball has ended - baseball is starting today - dance is still going on and will until June 12.
Last week we took the kids to dinner and a movie. We saw Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Two of the three kids liked it and Miss C did not at all (so she says). We then went to CPK for dinner - every loves that place. We eat there anytime we are near one.

Welcome March
I am excited about March for some reason... perhaps it is because I am tired of all the snow, that spring break will be here at the end of the month, that the family birthday season starts this month.

Small Successes
It has been a long long time since I have done this and I just felt a need to do it today...
1) I am sticking to my main/public Lenten resolution very well. Thank you Rachel for that post on your blog. I really needed that.
2) I am sticking to working out and the changed eating habits (not using the word diet) and it is paying off. 12 pounds gone! here is to 5 more.
3) Every week I schedule out all the meals and every week I look at them and then change my mind. This means going out and spending money on food when I have a good meal on the plans. Well the last few weeks I have stuck to the menu planning even when I don't want to cook or it does not look that interesting any more. I am the type of person who hates to pack a lunch because what if I change my mind between 7AM and 1PM.

Nice to hear - Nice to know
Today I was complimented by someone at work about my wieght loss. That was very nice to hear! I said thank you and did not discount the compliment.
Also, this person confirmed my thoughts on someone else and their gossipy self. That was good to hear and to know!
